The heart of California is beating with love! Fresno County is full of romantic spots to take your loved one. Here are some of our favorite date ideas to celebrate with your partner:
Watch the Sunset at Millerton Lake
There is nothing like a Fresno County sunset, and you'll find an incredible view at Millerton Lake. Park at the day-use area off of Millerton Road to watch the sun fall behind the hillside or drive up Sky Harbour Road to park on one of the turnouts to watch the sun shimmer over the lake. Millerton Lake is located just 30 minutes north of Fresno and Clovis.
Kings Canyon National Park
Walk among some of the tallest trees in the world with your loved one inside Kings Canyon National Park. Explore Grant Grove and witness the General Grant Tree or see the Mark Twain Tree, the stump of a sequoia tree that was cut by the U.S. Army more than 100 years ago to exhibit the grand scale of the trees. If you leave at dusk, you'll be greeted with a gorgeous orange glow over the mountainside on your way back down to the Valley floor. Be sure to check the latest road conditions before heading out to the park.
Fresno County Blossom Trail
Hop in the car with your partner and head out for a drive along the Fresno County Blossom Trail! The pink blooms and view of the foothills are a romantic backdrop for any date. Stop for lunch at the Blossom Trail Cafe, pick up fresh fruit from the Blossom Trail Fruit Stand, or find unique shops in Kingsburg's Swedish Village. Take a tour of the Blossom Trail here.
Shinzen Garden & Woodward Park
With plenty of greenery, ponds, and winding trails, Woodward Park is a great place for couples to explore! Take a walk through the Shinzen Japanese Friendship Garden. Get active and walk along the Lewis S. Eaton Trail for a view of the Sierra Nevada and San Joaquin River. Pack a picnic or bring take-out from nearby Heirloom or the Fat Little Dumpling. Finish off the evening with a scoop of ice cream from Ampersand.
Mural District
Stroll through the Mural District in Downtown Fresno to see stunning mural artwork, including the romantic "Art Inspires Life" mural. Sit beneath the glowing light sculptures in the Cultural Arts District Park and admire the beauty left behind by talented local artists. Take the Mural District tour here. Afterward, drive down Fulton Street to Quail State, Downtown Fresno's rooftop bar for craft cocktails and bar bites, or Cosmopolitan Tavern and Italian Grill for delicious pastas, pizzas, and more.
