in the U.S. happens right here in Fresno County!

The Hmong Cultural New Year Celebration will be held at the Fresno Fairgrounds from December 28, 2023 through December 31, 2024.

Hmong New Year is the biggest cultural event within the Hmong community which marks the end of another year of hard work and a time for giving thanks. Each year, thousands of people from all over the country come to Fresno to take part in this annual tradition. The New Year festivities include several activities, performances and food vendors. The Hmong, Inc., which hosts the event, says it's part of their mission for cultural preservation and development.

Day 1 - December 28 from 8 AM to 5 PM

8 AM: Gates Open

11 AM: Opening Ceremony at The Pavilion/Statue of General Vang Pao

11:30 AM: Ribbon Cutting & Parade at the Entrance Arch & Vendor Areas

12 PM to 4 PM: Reception, Lunch & Entertainment at the Industry Commerce Building

1 PM to 4 PM: Badminton Competition at the Agricultural Building

1 PM to 4 PM: Foods, Drinks & Live Music at the Industrial Education Building

Day 2 & 3 - December 29-30 from 8 AM to 5 PM

8 AM: Gates Open

10 AM to 4 PM: Pageant & Dance Competition at the Industry Commerce Building

11 AM to 4 PM: Foods & Live Music at the Industrial Education Building

11 AM to 4 PM: Badminton Competition at the Agricultural Building

Day 4 - December 31 from 8 AM to 5 PM

8 AM: Gates Open

10 AM to 11:59 PM: Hmong 1975 & College Samthong Reunion at the Industry Commerce Building

11 AM to 4 PM: Foods & Live Music at the Industrial Education Building

11 AM to 4 PM: Badminton Competition at the Agricultural Building
