Description
Join the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust for a morning of guided canoeing and Bald Eagle observations at Millerton Lake! Perfect for first-time paddlers and novice birders, you’ll learn basic paddling skills and practice our observation skills on this four-hour tour.
They will start with an introduction to Bald Eagle behaviors, migration, and habitat at Millerton. From there everyone will unload their kayaks, go through a short lesson on safe and effective canoeing, and head out onto the water. Everyone will be on the water for approximately three hours. Please note: while Bald Eagle sightings are likely, they cannot be guaranteed.
Times: All Saturday Morning Bald Eagle Canoe tours start at 8:30 am and end at approximately 12:30 pm. Registration for all trips closes at 12:00 pm on the Thursday prior to the tour. Participants will meet inside Millerton Lake State Recreation Area. Please note: registration does not include the park entry fee, and participants will be required to pay $10 fee per vehicle to enter the park.
