It might not feel like fall yet, but that doesn't mean you can't get a head start on seasonal fun. If you're a sucker for cozy treats, crisp leaves, or full-on Halloween energy like we are, Fresno County has something going on all season long. Use this as your local or out-of-town bucket list because fall hits different here.
Watch the Leaves Change in the City

You don’t have to leave town for fall foliage. Head to Shinzen Japanese Garden inside Woodward Park for scenic views, shaded pathways, and that unmistakable crunch of leaves under your feet. This spot is especially beautiful in the early mornings and just before sunset. Bring a blanket, your camera, and let autumn do its thing.
Pumpkin Patch Season is in Full Swing

Across the county, you’ll find pumpkin patches that go all out. From corn mazes, u-pick flowers, hayrides, farm animals, and seasonal snacks, there's family fun to get the fall spirit going. Most run throughout October and end by the first week of November. Get out to one of the pumpkin patches to take fall pictures or find that perfect gourd for decorations. Cozy Fall Treats to Warm You Up

For those slower, chill mornings, there’s nothing better than a good coffee and something sweet. Try a seasonal latte from a local coffee shop or grab some fresh pan dulce from one of Fresno County’s many bakeries. If you're catching up with friends or escaping the hustle, these treats hit the fall-cozy spot. Check out our local coffee shops and bakeries here.
Shop for Vintage Treasures

If your version of fall includes thrifting flannel or scoring retro finds, Fresno County’s vintage scene is calling. Spend an afternoon browsing aisles of antiques, picking up vinyl, or hunting for handmade home goods at local vintage shops. If you're shopping or just window-browsing, it’s all part of the fall fun with a warm drink in hand. Check out our Unique and Boutique local shops here.
Visit a Local Farm Stand for Peak-Season Produce

Fresno County is one of the most productive agricultural regions in the country and fall is prime time to taste the harvest. Scattered throughout the county, you’ll find roadside farm stands and family-run produce stops offering pumpkins, pomegranates, squash, citrus, and jams. If you're after fresh fruit for a picnic, a few mini pumpkins for your front porch, head to one of our many farm stands to enjoy the harvest of the season. Go here for a list of farm stands to visit.
