As visitors exploring Fresno County's Fruit Trail, it's important to help preserve the beauty and productivity of Fresno County’s agricultural landscape. Here's a few tips to keep in mind while enjoying the Fruit Trail

Stay on Designated Paths and Areas (Unless Clearly Stated U-Pick is Available)

Sunshine's Farm

Foot traffic can damage crops and irrigation systems on a working farm. Try your best not to walk onto fields or orchards where fruit is growing and stay near the farm stands. Be sure to check with the farm tenant and look for clear signage stating U-pick fruit options are available to the general public.

Supervise Children Closely

Keep children close by and explain the importance of not picking fruit unless permitted before you enter the farm stand area to prevent unintentional damage to crops. U-pick farms are an exciting time, be sure to bring napkins and water to clean off--berry picking can get sticky!

Don't Leave Trash Behind

Whatever you bring to the farm stand, be sure to leave with it. Food wrappers, drink containers, plastic bags, and napkins can create issues for the growers due to farms not always having regular trash pickups. Let's try to remember what our local growers are doing to help enrich their soil and add to our environment so we can continue enjoying the fruits of their labor!

 Park Only in Designated Areas

Avoid pulling off into orchards or blocking driveways. Many roadside stands offer parking areas to use those spots to keep the area safe and accessible to the fruit stand customers and growers.

Touch Only What You Can Purchase

Farmers rely on every piece of fruit they grow, please remember to not touch or pick produce that is in the orchards or in fields that are not labeled for purchase. Of course we want you to admire the fruit, enjoy the beauty of what nature can grow from a distance.

Support Local Farmers

Grab something fresh while you're out there—buying straight from the farm stand means you're supporting local farmers! Many of the farm stands take cash, contactless payment, or card. Be sure to ask what their payment capabilities and come prepared with cash just in case.
