Walking Trails
Mild weather matched with the diversity of trail options in Fresno and Clovis make Fresno County an ideal destination for recreational running, walking, cycling and skating. Paved rail-trails connect the two cities allowing for ease of access in an environment separate from traffic.
The Clovis Old Town Trail stretches longest, at nearly 6 miles. The tree-lined well-maintained trail is located directly across from Old Town Clovis and in close proximity to Sierra Vista Mall. It begins just south of Dakota and Clovis Avenues, and becomes the Sugar Pine Trail near Willow and Nees Avenue. The four-mile-long Sugar Pine Trail offers convenient access to several dining and shopping options, including the popular River Park Shopping Center.
Separate from the rail-trails, the Parkway Trail Network is the best option to fully immerse in the natural beauty of Fresno County. The central trail of this network, the Eaton Trail, is 6 miles long and allows for beautiful views of the river bottom. Shorter trails of the network include access to the San Joaquin river banks near Woodward Park and Lost Lake Recreation Area.
