Walking Trails
Sunny California weather matched with the diversity of trail options in the area make Fresno County an ideal destination for recreational running, walking, cycling and skating.
Paved rail-trails connect Fresno and Clovis creating routes for fun recreation and to reach attractions in an environment separate from traffic. The Clovis Old Town Trail stretches longest, at nearly 6 miles. The tree-lined well-maintained trail is located directly across from Old Town Clovis and is in close proximity to Sierra Vista Mall. It begins just south of Dakota and Clovis Avenues, and becomes the Sugar Pine Trail near Willow and Nees Avenues. The four-mile-long Sugar Pine Trail offers convenient access to several dining and shopping options, including the popular River Park Shopping Center.
Separate from the rail-trails, Parkway Trail Network offers all wanderers the opportunity to fully immerse in the natural beauty of Fresno County. The most notable of the network--Eaton Trail--is 6 miles long and presents beautiful views of the river bottom. Shorter trails within the network offer access to the San Joaquin river banks near Woodward Park and Lost Lake Recreation Area.
