Fresno State Winery


The Fresno State Winery and student winemakers have achieved continuous recognition for producing quality wines by winning numerous medals. Each year, the winery is represented at both national and international wine competitions, consistently receiving numerous gold and silver medals, including “Best of Class.” These awards, in addition to the 100% graduate employment rate, have brought unparalleled acclaim to Fresno State and the San Joaquin Valley. All Fresno State wines are produced by students with the guidance and supervision from our faculty. Fresno State’s prestigious program is known for engaging students in all aspects of the winemaking process. The process begins with student participation in vineyard practices to ensure our grapes are of the highest quality. Grapes are harvested and brought to our winery from their own vineyards as well as from local vineyards throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Throughout fermentation and cellaring, wines are managed by student winemakers and, at the appropriate time, blended and bottled.
