Description
The River Parkway Trust invites you and your pre-K or K aged explorers to join us for a Saturday afternoon adventure learning all about animal homes at Sumner Peck! During the two-hour long session, your Weekend Explorer will:
- Take a guided nature walk near the San Joaquin River looking for animal homes
- Use magnifying glasses to observe ants, then create their own ant food experiment
- Make an ant hill craft
- Play Find Your Lilypad- players pretend to be various animals and then quickly find a "home" when the music stops
Parents are required to remain on the Sumner Peck property for the duration of the trip and assist with social distancing among youth participants. Please bring a water bottle and mask for your child(ren). Sumner Peck is located at 14439 N Friant Rd, Friant, CA 93626. Meet near the manufactured home next to the river at 1:30 pm; once on site, follow the dirt road straight back of the entrance after you arrive.
