If there’s one thing you should know about Fresno County, it’s that we love our Fresno State Bulldogs! As football season kicks off, game days bring plenty of energy to town, from pregame bites and tailgating to cheering on the Dogs at Valley Children’s Stadium. If you’re visiting Fresno County for a game, here are a few tips to help you make the most of your game-day experience. Go Dogs!

Make It a Game-Day Feast

Combo Mad Duck/ Dog House CollageA great game day starts with a delicious meal! Campus Pointe, just across from Fresno State, is a convenient spot to grab a bite before kickoff. Stop by Mad Duck Craft Brewing Co. for food and craft beer or check out the other dining options around Campus Pointe before heading to the stadium.

For a taste of a local favorite, make your way to Dog House Grill for its famous tri-tip sandwich. You can also pick up food and drinks from local vendors to create your own pregame spread and bring a little Fresno flavor to your tailgate.

Ready to tailgate? Know before you go! Check out the stadium’s tailgating rules and policies to find designated picnic and tailgating areas and make the most of your pregame experience.

Parking: Plan Ahead

Fresno State Parking

Game-day traffic is part of the experience, but that doesn’t mean you have to let it catch you off guard. With fans arriving from across the region, parking areas can fill up and traffic around campus can get busy.

Our advice? Arrive early and plan your parking before you head to the stadium. Fresno State provides parking maps and information about available passes online, so take a look ahead of time and know where you’re going before kickoff. A few extra minutes of planning can save you from circling for a spot so that you can get ready to cheer on the Bulldogs.

Know the Bag Policy

Fresno State Seating

Before you head into Valley Children’s Stadium, make sure your bag meets Fresno State’s game-day requirements. The stadium has a clear-bag policy, and they must not exceed (12” x 6” x 12”), so plan accordingly and leave non-compliant bags at your hotel or in your vehicle.

There are exceptions for certain medical items and diaper bags. Be sure to review Fresno State’s current stadium policies before you arrive so you can get through security and into the game without any surprises.

Check for Game-Day Events

A Fresno State game is about more than just what happens on the field. Throughout the season, there may be themed games, special events and other activities happening in various activation zones. Skip the Post-Game Hassle

Fresno HOP

Not ready for the night to end when the final whistle blows? The Fresno HOP trolley makes it easy to keep exploring. The free trolley picks up at Campus Pointe and connects you to Downtown Fresno, making it a convenient option if you’re planning to head downtown after the game or staying at a hotel in the area.
