Get ready to dust off your cowboy boots and put on your biggest hat because Big Hat Days is back this weekend! Drawing crowds from far and wide to celebrate Clovis' western heritage and lively culture. Get ready for a weekend of live music, delicious food, and family-friendly fun.

The festival runs Saturday, April 6 through Sunday, April 7. Old Town Clovis will transform into a lively street fair, with more than 400 vendors offering everything from handmade crafts to a beer garden and carnival. Here are some recommendations from the Visit Fresno County staff to enjoy Big Hat Days to the fullest!

Beer Garden & Food Booths

Big Hat Days Beer Garden

Our team has you covered when it comes to getting food at Big Hat Days. Our vice president, Vanessa, likes to stop at one or two food booths for a late lunch, then head to the beer garden for music. Our research specialist Dylan says the beer garden is a place for "good vibes and cold brews" while enjoying live music and maybe even a dance or two. Visit Fresno County President/CEO, Lisa Oliveira, recommends grabbing a warm cinnamon roll topped with walnuts and trying other tasty treats like freeze dried candy and local beef jerky. Lisa also recommends exploring the diverse culinary offerings from the food trucks on-site, or taking a seat at one of the local eateries in Old Town. Jackie, our creative content specialist, recommends treating yourself to some ice cream (try Flavor Burst Ice Cream) or exploring vendors offering shaved ice, fruit cups, aguas frescas, and more refreshing treats.

Family-Friendly Zone

If you’re visiting with little ones, Lisa also recommends checking out the Family-Friendly Zone that features face painting, carnival rides, and a quick train ride down Pollasky Avenue in the heart of Old Town Clovis.

Vendor Booths & Shopping

Big Hat Days Hat Booth

Lisa, our president/CEO, has a checklist of must-haves for Big Hat Days. It's no better time to get a new pair of sunglasses or two! Vendors always have specials with a large variety to pick from so you’re ready for the Fresno County sunshine. You'll also need a hat from Sassano’s Men’s Wear to get ready for the Clovis Rodeo! Dylan also recommends stopping by the Clovis Chamber’s booth to buy your very own Big Hat Days shirt. Jackie and Vanessa love to check out the artisan items including handcrafted purses, crotchet items, jewelry and plants.

With these insider tips, you're all set to saddle up and make the most of Big Hat Days! So round up your friends and family, put on your favorite hat, and get ready for a weekend filled with fun, food, and festivities in Old Town Clovis.
