Fresno County is rich in culture and diversity from all over the world. Mexican culture is prominent throughout the county through food, art and so much more. Dia De Los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) is an annual Mexican holiday, where people welcome back the souls of their family members who’ve passed and celebrate their memory. There are several celebrations happening in Fresno County. Here’s where you can take part in the festivities:
Dia De Los Muertos- Future Ford of Clovis – October 28
Location: Future Ford of Clovis, 920 W Shaw Ave Clovis
Time: 1 pm – 4 pm
About the event: Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos with the community as local Folkloric dancers from McLane High School show of traditional dances. Take in the beauty of altars adorned with marigolds, candles, and heartfelt offerings, paying homage to departed souls.
Celebracion De Dia De Los Muertos- October 29
Location: Kerckhoff Park, 15023-15099 W G St. Kerman, CA 93630
Time: 2 pm – 7 pm
About the event: Enjoy a family day out at Kerckhoff Park for a Day of the Dead celebration. There will be live music by a mariachi and a raffle.
Fresno City College- Dia De Los Muertos- November 1
Location: University Mall, 1101 E University Ave, Fresno, CA 93741
Time: 9 am — 2 pm
About the event: The Latino Faculty and Faff Association of Fresno City College will be providing pan dulce, hot chocolate, and coffee in honor of Dia De Los Muertos. There will also be music, and many ofrendas to view, including ofrendas in the Library Foyer.
Festival del Dia de Los Muertos- November 1

About the event: Explore artisanal crafts from local vendors, taste amazing food from local food trucks, and enjoy multiple performances.
Sips & Skulls – November 2
Location: Lucy’s Lounge Tower District, 733 East Olive Ave, Fresno, CA
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
About the event: Participate in a sugar skull-making workshop as you sip on wine and eat appetizers at Lucy’s Lounge. There will be a raffle and all art supplies will be included.

Selma – Dia De Los Muertos – November 4
Location: Pioneer Village, 1880 Art Gonzales Pkwy, Selma, CA 93662
Time: 2 pm- 7 pm
About the event: This event will highlight folkloric dancers, crafts, and ofrendas. Take part in this tradition as the community comes together to joyfully remember and honor deceased loved ones.
Fresno Chaffee Zoo – Dia De Los Muertos – November 5
Location: Fresno Chaffee Zoo, 894 W Belmont Ave, Fresno, CA 93728
Time: 10 am- 3 pm
About the event: The event will highlight local artists, food vendors, folkloric dancers, and musicians. Ofrenda art will be displayed throughout the Zoo ending with a large display in Canopy Grove.
