Step into a day of adventure at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Beyond the fantastic exhibits, you can also get up close to some of the animals and learn more at these behind-the-scenes experiences. With several interactive exhibits, like the Stingray Bay, Twiga Terrace, Valley Farm, and The Roo walkabout. As well as the return of the popular Zoorassic park exhibit and the Kaleidoscope of color in the live Butterfly Garden. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo offers a big city zoo experience without the big city price.
Gills and Thrills
Gills and Thrills brings the sea critters right to the palm of your hand. Imagine being up close to white spotted bamboo sharks, nurse sharks and Stingrays! This behind-the-scenes moment gives you a cool interactive experience where you can let the Stingrays glide beneath your fingertips and feed them. Zookeepers will share with you what it takes to care for the sharks and the rays.

Twiga Terrace
Get even more close and personal with a giraffe feeding moment! Twiga Terrace brings you eye level with giraffes, allowing you to feed them a tasty piece of lettuce right out of the palm of your hand. This unique experience creates an unforgettable connection with one of the world’s tallest and most gentle animals.

Roo Walkabout
Across the zoo, the experience opens up even more. Roo Walkabout invites you to step into the habitat itself, walking alongside kangaroos in a shared space. This unique experience features red kangaroos, wallaroos, wallabies and more multi-species that you can only witness at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. You don’t have to go to Australia to walk amongst the kangaroos!
Valley Farm
At Valley Farm, guests can get hands-on with Fresno County’s rich agricultural roots by petting friendly Nubian and Nigerian dwarf goats while learning about the region’s global impact on farming. The exhibit also highlights the importance of growing fresh produce, with many of the plants helping feed and enrich animals throughout the Zoo, from elephants and tortoises to colorful macaws. Perfect for families, curious kids, and anyone looking to connect with the heart of Fresno County agriculture.
Butterfly Garden
Inside this kaleidoscope of color Butterfly Garden, hundreds of free-flying butterflies move throughout the space, drifting from flower to flower and occasionally landing close enough to make you pause. It’s a quieter experience that shifts your focus and encourages you to take your time. You can watch as the butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and might have one land on you!

Zoorassic Park
Not far from there, Zoorassic Park changes the pace entirely. This walk-through experience features life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar as you pass through, creating a fully immersive environment that feels especially dynamic for families.
